Last year and within the Gas Natural Fenosa’s coverage area (Bogotá, Boyacá, Cundinamarca and Santander), 19,113 conversions were conducted, whereas 17,141 vehicles were switched to natural gas in 2012.
With these results, vehicle conversions to CNG in the country total 461,715 vehicles, 153,319 of which have been performed in Bogota, which represents a 33% share of the nation’s total conversion market.
“This shows how CNG contributes to the economy, environment and society in general from perspectives such as health. It can be also adopted by public transport fleets, bringing an additional benefit to residents,” said René Perea, commercial director of Gas Natural Fenosa Colombia.
In addition to these advantages, Gas Natural Fenosa offers an extensive network of 69 CNG stations in Bogota, where there are 169 natural gas refueling sites in total. That figure rises to more than 600 stations all across the country, meeting the growing demand generated by new NGV conversions without any problem.
