The Iberian Association of Natural Gas for Mobility (Gasnam) and Fortrans Group will work together to spread specialized information on the economic and strategic advantages provided by natural gas as transportation fuel. Multispecialty Training Centers attached to Fortrans will train professional drivers with fleets and business of goods and passengers transportation industry.
As the fuel is about 35% of direct cost of a commercial vehicle, many business look for more profitable, rational and environmentally-friendly strategic alternatives; therefore, this training program will promote CNG and LNG as the only real alternative to oil, more economical and clean, maximizing the profitability of companies in the transportation sector by reducing fuel costs by 30%.
Fortrans training centers, located in all autonomous regions, have already received specific training and from now on are recognized as Gasnam collaborating centers. They have the information and specific materials provided by the association, which will be added to the centers’ various training packages, to those mandatory (CAP) or any other specific program offered.
“Gasnam joins this project in order to promote and increase awareness of the advantages of natural gas as a vehicle fuel, knowing that professional drivers and transportation companies will appreciate the new fuel, which features a perfectly developed transport and storage technology and that guarantees a cleaner and more economical engine operation. This new reality will allow users to obtain greater efficiency and lower consumption, gaining in productivity and therefore in competitiveness,” said Gasnam general secretary Manuel Lage.
