In turn, Augsburg has about 100 natural gas buses on its road, which are even almost CO2-neutral as they are fueled with pure biomethane. It delivers up to 97 percent less CO2 than gasoline. According to local officials, the city has the greatest density of NGVs in the country.
It is worth recalling that Augsburg is offering 100 percent of renewable natural gas at four filling stations since November 1st, after the city public utilities provider Stadtwerke Augsburg and Verbio AG –the fuel producer- increased their service agreement.
