“The rise of commercial vehicles powered by natural gas has its origin mainly in the savings achieved with this fuel. NGV fleets are a strategic option for companies engaged in the distribution of goods,” said Dante Natali, head of Metanauto.
Moreover, the growth is due to the incentives launched by the government in late 2009, reported the news site Stradafacendo. It was also informed that even though it is difficult to reach the same figures during the first months of this year, the rise will come in April.
Natali also said that the popularity of CNG fleets shows the support of the automotive industry players as well as their confidence in methane benefits and progress experienced in the vehicles, which currently deliver the same performance, security, power and comfort than traditional fuel powered fleets.
