The training, which took place last month, focused on two modules. The first included ‘theory’ about natural gas, ATEX regulations, safety standards in NGVs and CNG stations, biomethane and optimization of vehicle fleets. The second was a ‘practical’ module with information on high-pressure circuits, including the manufacturing of parts at the workshop, and handling and assembly of high pressure couplings.
Moreover, the training provided by GDF Suez to 35 Ivorian trainees has allowed both local companies to obtain the permission required to roll out the first four CNG-powered buses, recently acquired by Sotra, and launch an NGV experimental phase.
It is worth mentioning that the estimated potential reserves of natural gas in Ivory Coast are 700 billion m3.
