The OMB Horus is eight meters long, has a capacity of 47 passengers (11 seated, 35 standing and a wheelchair) and was converted by the Italian manufacturer Eco Power Technology. Its multi-fuel turbine operates by three combined propulsion systems: CNG-electric, diesel-electric, LPG- electric or just electric.
Juan Angel Terrón, EMT’s technical and engineering manager, remarked the firm stopped purchasing diesel-driven buses. Moreover, it will switch nine vehicles to hybrids this year and add seven new hybrids and five natural gas-powered buses by 2012 and 2013.
In turn, Spain OMB manager Juan Molina stressed that this type of vehicle has been running in Italian cities like Naples, Turin, Venice, Genoa, Aquila and Brescia for ten years”.
