In early February, there were 3,500 vehicles already converted to CNG in the country. In addition, six natural gas refuelling stations have been recently opened in the nation’s capital city.
It is important to clarify that the federal government intends to encourage the use of CNG in public transportation. In this regard, President Leonel Fernández personally handed over the keys of 200 methane-powered taxis to drivers, under an agreement sealed with the Reserve Bank.
