The new service started with a CNG facility located in the county of Horizonte, which has sent its 27 CNG storage cylinders for inspection at the laboratory. There, the minimum conditions required are evaluated, ensuring both the integrity of the equipment and the safety of users.
The process of requalification of this type of cylinders is similar to the method carried out with the CNG cylinders used in NGVs, and consists in examining and verifying the mass loss or the existence of cracks in the material that could lead to leaks.
According to division chief Raymond Montefusco, the expectation is that the service can satisfy the NGV industry demand, following the specifications of the gas company of Ceará (Cegás).
Currently, Cegás serves 79 refuelling stations and sells on average 176.9 m³/day of CNG in all the state of Ceará.
