Boisen was as one of the founders of ENGVA (European Natural Gas Vehicle Association) and then of its successor NGVA Europe, established in 2008. He was Chairman of NGVA Europe’s Board of Directors until 2009, and then had a permanent seat as Honorary Chairman. Previously, he worked in the shipping, oil and gas, and steel industries, and spent the last 23 years of his working career in the automotive industry. In Volvo Cars, he was responsible for the development of natural gas vehicles.
He also chaired and coordinated the Country Representative Committee (CRC) activities until 2011, was responsible for providing regular NGV market updates and statistics, and furthermore founded the NGV World headlines, amongst many other appreciated things and his achievements. He was rewarded with many prizes throughout his successful career, including the NGV Champion Award presented at NGV Global 2012 in Mexico.
As NGVA Europe remembers him, Boisen was “a very warm-hearted and professional colleague and friend” who dedicated his entire life to the NGV cause. “The industry and the European Association would not be where and what it is today without his passion and enthusiasm,” said NGVA Europe team.
