The card, which will be available at all network of Green Gas Ltd. (GGL), NNPC subsidiary company handling CNG market in Benin, Edo State, is one of the numerous measures GGL is putting in place to facilitate faster and more convenient system of effecting payment for NGV equipment and ultimately increasing number of users of the gaseous fuel. It will also allow drivers to validate the entire components in their vehicles for periodic inspection, routine safety check and guide against counterfeiting of any sort.
According to NNPC, the technology designed and developed locally is multi-faceted as it can be utilized for loyalty programs and customer reward system for the ever growing motorists switching compressed natural gas, reported The Herald.
It is worth mentioning that GGL currently operates seven filling stations in Benin with about 3,000 vehicles already converted at its CNG workshops in that city. Likewise, scores of GGL fueling facilities are at various stages of completion in other parts of the country, particularly Lagos-Benin and Warri–Benin Expressway to further boost CNG usage across the nation.
