By December 31, 2015, all new light duty vehicles leased or purchased by agencies must be alternative fueled vehicles, including compressed natural gas, among many other opcions. Where practicable, agencies should encourage development of commercial infrastructure for alternative fuel or provide flex fuel and alternative fuel pumps and charging stations at Federal fueling sites.
By the end of March, Barack Obama highlighted the potential of natural gas in transport and later on he launched the Green Fleet Partnership, together with large commercial fleets, such us AT&T, FedEx, PepsiCo, UPS and Verizon.
