LTC chairman, Khawaja Ahmad Hassan, said this initiative is supported by the local government that aims to encourage private operators to convert their fleets to natural gas. The executive highlighted that both transportation companies and local and foreign investors show interested in the project.
On the other hand, Karachi -one of the world’s largest cities in terms of population- continues its natural gas conversion process for public transportation. Recently, 60 mini-buses were switched to CNG in order to deal with growing diesel prices.
Simultaneously, this major city continues expanding its CNG refuelling network. Last month, the first compressed natural gas station for buses with Aspro technology was inaugurated, and also the Transport Department of the province, Sindh, has received a request to install a mega CNG station to fill heavy-duty vehicles.
