General manager Edgardo Escobar Ochoa said that they will invest about US$15 million to expand the CNG network to satisfy the increasing demand that will require more than 2,000 monthly CNG conversions.
The new outlook would represent a growth of 30 percent compared to 2009 in which there were 81,000.
Escobar stressed the leap of conversions, which in 2005 were only 63; in 2007, 24,000 and in 2009 the number was tripled.
In addition, the executive said that the plan of PGN for 2015 is “to increase from 10 to 25 percent the CNG conversions in the country” and “to have 65 stations in 2012”, spread in 20 Lima districts.
When these 10 additional NGV dispensing points start working, the Peruvian company will be operating 35 CNG stations by the end of 2010.
