Peru to reach 340,000 NGVs by 2015

The executive told Andina news agency that 145,000 CNG vehicles will be part of the nation fleet by the end of 2011, as well as he forecasted 185,000 units by 2012, 235,000 by 2013, 285,000 by 2014 and, finally, 340,000 by 2015. He also said that the highest monthly conversion peak occurred in October 2008, when 3,600 vehicles opted for CNG system.

On the other hand, Juarez stated that the board of the CPGNV, chaired by Miguel Maal, commissioned two management consultants to draw up an NGV promotion program. “These two companies will present their campaigns to the director’s board next week and we will see what they propose us in order to encourage NGV market,” he added.

According to latest statistics, there are 95,242 CNG-powered units around the country. The association expects this figure to reach 100,000 units by mid-November.
