Muñoz stated that his board requires at least a thousand vehicles for the proposal to be profitable and each taxi would be equipped with the compressed natural gas technology. It will represent a considerable energy savings and help reduce emissions of particulates.
“We have to start with comprehensive projects, where all can participate, because safety and environment issues belong to everyone. This is a more complete proposal that has to do with safe and eco-friendly taxis. We are introducing an inclusive project,” he said.
The initiative will be officially announced next week and State Board expects to receive support from the state administration and ensure that it can be executed. “It must be a state project, and not from a single organization,” added Muñoz.
