AESSGAN participated in the 1st Bus and Coach Symposium organized by the INSIA (University Institute of Automobile Research) at the School of Industrial Engineers of Madrid. Its general secretary Manuel Lage recalled that the primary objectives of the European Alternative Fuels Infrastructure Directive are the reduction of emissions and also the reduction of oil dependence, all in a spirit of technological neutrality before the various alternatives.
In this line Lage defended that the different aid programs for the purchase of clean fuel vehicles are open to all alternatives and that, with the necessary pragmatism in the use of public aid, a single scale is used based on the quantitative substitution of petroleum derivatives and the improvement of total emissions contributed by each alternative.
Moreover, he recalled that natural gas, which also has renewable sources, is today the only alternative capable of giving a real, economic and almost zero emission response to urban and intercity public transport, in any type of route. On the other hand, natural gas buses are the only alternative that the full life cycle experience can offer, guaranteeing the lowest total operating cost.
AESSGAN, which gathers the economic and strategic interests of medium and small companies in the industrial, and road and maritime transport sectors in the small scale distribution of CNG and LNG, supports and sponsors AltFuels Iberia 2019, taking place on 11-14 June at IFEMA Trade Center, Madrid. The event will consist of first level conferences and exhibition of vehicles of all kinds, refueling stations, components, plants, road and marine engines, as well as the entire universe of the alternative fuels industry with the latest technological developments, multiple options for networking, business and new advances.
