In order to facilitate vehicles retrofit, The Nigerian Independent Petroleum Company (NIPCO) has built a state-of- the- art conversion workshop in all its CNG stations. Four out of the eight sales points licensed have been operational but it is expected that two additional ones will start business, reported This Day Live.
The entire project regarding CNG facilities, which includes a gas compression plant, fuelling station and conversion centres, is part of a joint venture between NIPCO and Nigerian Gas Company (NGC) of the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC), Lawal pointed out.
At the same time, managing director of NIPCO Venkatapathy Venkatraman recently urged the federal government to make a policy which enables the introduction of NGVs in the country.
