Furthermore, there are 112 CNG Equipment Producers (PECs, as its Spanish acronym), of which over 38% are located in the province of Buenos Aires (43). In the last six months of 2011, five new companies were authorized to operate as PECs in the country.
According to data provided by Enargas, Argentina has 1,096 authorized conversion workshops. Besides the Capital City, 18 of the country’s 23 provinces offer CNG conversions. Buenos Aires area, which is in the top of the list with 482 conversion centers, has almost half of the country’s facilities.
Cylinders are another important piece in the NGV market, and must be reviewed every five years. In total, there are 13 provinces, besides the City of Buenos Aires, authorized to identify when a storage tank may or may not continue operating.
