“It is a modern and high-quality mass transit system for our people. It consists of 11 boarding stations and 30 articulated buses that will transport nearly 30,000 passengers daily throughout this corridor,” Jaua announced.
He explained that BusCaracas vehicles are refilled with “clean fuel that avoids carbon gases,” as part of the comprehensive policy of environmental protection led by President Hugo Chávez. In addition, each bus is capable of carrying 165 people. A few weeks ago, the Internal Market Directorate of the Ministry of Oil and Mining had conducted the first natural gas refueling test.
Meanwhile, the Minister of Land Transportation said the technology used for the system, which covers 5.2 kilometers along this exclusive corridor¸ is a result of a China-Venezuela agreement. He further explained that bus rapid transit system can connect Metro de Caracas with La Hoyada and La Bandera stations.
