From the very beginning of the first day of NGV2011 Berlin, many visitors gained access to over 80 stands from different segments that are part of this business, in a meeting where the speakers have really built an NGV city.
The ribbon-cutting ceremony of the exhibition took place at 13.30. Trevor Fletcher, chairman of NGVA Europe, gave a short speech conveying his “extremely warm welcome” to all the participants and pointed out how NGV will “play an enormous part in the future” of transport. Gerhard Holtmeier, chairman of erdgas mobil, said that he is “very proud” that the workshop takes place in Germany, while Lee Kwan Jun, the Mayor of Chuncheon presented the upcoming NGV Global event (its 13th conference and exhibition) which will be held in the city of South Korea, and then some salutation words from NGV Global president, Gabriele Gozzi. The ceremony has been followed by a welcome cocktail.
NGVA Europe General Manager Manuel Lage and former NGV Global President Juan Carlos Fracchia inaugurated the Workshops. Lage highlighted the intention of transforming these meetings into a real picture of the current situation, regarding the activity and its technology, whereas Fracchia emphasized the potential of Latin American market and invited those present to the International NGV & Gaseous Fuels Conference and the V ExpoGNC 2011, to be held in Buenos Aires next November. Immediately, the first workshop was launched, with eight OEM representatives taking part in the panel of experts. The workshop hall was jam-packed and the debate had to be extended overtime due to the enthusiastic response.
