Constructed and operated by CNG distributor Naturelgaz, the new facility was recently inaugurated by Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdoğan. It is located in Rize, in the eastern part of the Black Sea Region of Turkey, and employs about 100 local people.
The initiative involved an investment of 50 million Turkish Lira (nearly US$ 24 million). The plant will supply energy of 23 mn m3 to Çaykur facilities, what will generate a cost saving of 7 million Turkish Liras within one year.
Prime Minister Erdoğan congratulated Mehmet Kutman, chairman of Naturelgaz board, on his contribution to Rize Region. The official also stated that Naturelgaz CNG filling facility is the largest private sector investment in Rize.
