“We want to change the mindset of people who always used diesel as a vehicle fuel, and we focus on companies that want to demonstrate their social responsibility and mitigate climate change through their actions. This idea strikes harder on foreign firms that are eco-conscious because of their home countries’ influence or on companies run by young entrepreneurs, whose mind is more open and flexible, such as Veraglia (from the French Group Saint-Gobain) or Andesmar,” said the businessman.
According to Derlich, the trucks are Esigas-owned as well as the drivers and service staff. Companies that hire the service will pay per kilometer traveled, disclaim any technical or logistical inconvenience and stop worrying about the purchase of trucks or engines and the transformation to natural gas.
For this initiative, Esigas acquired a plot of 5,000 m2 in the North Industrial Park, in the Department of Las Heras, where it will assemble various business sectors which are currently in different facilities: truck conversion workshops, plants of kits production, electronics and engine build, and the Research and Development department.
