Within the framework of the “Sustainable Mobility Week”, IVECO organized a virtual event to encourage the reduction of the environmental impact generated by means of transport. In this context, the brand presented its renewed CNG Tector truck, a product of its wide portfolio of vehicles powered by alternative energies. Manufactured at the Ferreyra Industrial Pole, in the city of Córdoba, the vehicle with the 160E21 configuration received the first homologation in Argentina for its commercialization and manufacture in July 2020.
“In Argentina, IVECO has a state-of-the-art Industrial Pole with excellent Engineering and Development departments that allow us to produce world-class NGVs in Córdoba. For this reason, we are very excited to see the great potential that exists in the country to bring sustainability to cargo transport. Our ‘Natural Power’ range rewrites the history of commercial vehicles powered by clean fuels and now with a renewed product of national manufacture that continues to position us as pioneers of CNG in Argentina. They are great additions to a range that we will continue to expand both in Argentina and in South America,” said Marcio Querichelli, President of IVECO in South America.
“This product renewal is a source of pride and a great commitment to the national market. Furthermore, this line responds mainly to a change in the energy matrix in the region, and from IVECO we will continue to be at the forefront offering our carriers a more economical and sustainable solution for its operations,” commented Francisco Spasaro, Commercial Director of IVECO in Argentina.
The renewed CNG Tector in its rigid version and short cab 4×2 configuration is powered by an FPT Industrial NEF 6 engine, with OTTO cycle of 210 HP and 750 Nm of torque. It has six CNG tanks, each with a capacity of 80 liters, which give it an approximate range of between 300 and 400 kilometers (depending on the refueling and driving mode), offering power and low level of gaseous and sound emissions, ideal for urban tasks and night missions.
Pablo Princich, IVECO Commercial and Marketing Manager, stated that the vehicles of the ‘Natural Power’ range were designed to run on CNG and that their engine has the same useful life, operating elasticity and performance as a diesel unit. Plus, it adds a quieter, more cost-effective, and environmentally friendly operation.
