Juan Carlos Gioia, mayor of Rawson, said the aim is to install CNG kits in at least 10 of the 21 patrol cars operating in the city’s route, especially those that cover the countryside. According to the official, conversions will be performed when warranties granted by dealerships expire.
The same situation occurs in Chimbas. Mayor Mario Tello said propulsion system changes are being sought because “fuel is one of the most important fixed costs.” This municipality has 16 vehicles, according to Diario de Cuyo.
Meanwhile, Ana López de Herrera, mayor of Rivadavia, said that the introduction of CNG in the 15 vehicles available in the town is being evaluated.
In Santa Lucía, where there are nine patrol cars in operation, CNG kit installations are also being contemplated. Mayor Marcelo Orrego said it will be implemented once warranty coverage expires.
