IVECO continues to add customers who choose CNG vehicles from its Natural Power range. One of the companies that recently began to work with this technology is Rapiflet Carolina, a firm from Rafaela, Province of Santa Fe, which has three vehicles of these characteristics in its fleet.
Hernán Heizman, owner of Rapiflet Carolina, says that he chose this type of product to contribute to the reduction of polluting emissions in the environment and to obtain a better return on operating costs.
“A year ago I started with the Daily CNG utility vehicles and at the beginning of this year we acquired a Tector from the Natural Power line. The company has more than 37 years of experience carrying out freights in the provinces of Santa Fe, Córdoba and Buenos Aires, and we live the incorporation of this technology as if it was a new beginning. One of our CNG Daily has been running for more than a year. It is economical and we are very satisfied,” Heizman pointed out.
The new CNG Tector has a rigid version in a 4×2 configuration named 160E21. It is powered by FPT Industrial’s NEF 6-cycle OTTO engine and has 210 hp and 750 Nm of torque. Its six 80-liter capacity CNG tanks give it an approximate range of 300 kilometers, offering power and a low level of gaseous and sound emissions, which makes it a great alternative for night missions. It has parabolic front suspension, a gearbox with six forward gears and an air-suspended driver’s seat for a high level of ride comfort. Its interior is modern and ergonomic, with a cable shift command integrated into the dash.
“We are going to continue to buy CNG vehicles, as they provide us with a proven 35% savings in operating cost,” Heizman added.
