Transportes Metropolitanos de Barcelona (TMB) has acquired 105 new buses for more than 34 million euros, 30 with hybrid propulsion and the rest powered by natural gas. The new buses, which will be supplied by MAN Truck & Bus Iberia during this year, will replace 75 standard buses and 30 articulated buses with diesel propulsion and first generation CNG technology.
Of the 105 buses, 49 will be 12-meter standard vehicles equipped with next-generation CNG engines, 26 will be 18-meters articulated united with the same technology, and 30 will be standard buses with hybrid propulsion.
According to the award conditions, the manufacturer must deliver the 105 buses gradually between September and December of this year. Currently, the TMB fleet consists of 1,140 vehicles.
