“Until now I have spent €172 knowing I produce CO2, but always less than any other fuel. Besides, the vehicle emit less NOx”, Commandeur told NGVJournal.com.
Sponsored by Sagius Uitzenders, the team, which started the tour in Amsterdam on June 14, plans to cover Europe visiting cities such as Berlin (Germany), Warsaw (Poland), Kiev, Odessa and Donetsk (Ukraine), Volgograd and St. Petersburg (Russia), Oulu (Finland), North Cape and Mo I Rana (Norway), Stockholm (Sweden), Copenhagen (Denmark) and London (United Kingdom). The trip will finish on July 27, when Olympic Games begin in the last mentioned city.
Organizers reported that running on biomethane saves 40% in fuel consumption and reduces CO2 emissions by 80%. It is also worth mentioning that the vehicle is equipped with a track system, which allows the team to be followed and also controls the automobile performance.
