“This experience will be a huge success,” said the governor, taking into account the advanced technology provided by Iveco and the research carried out by the Minas Gerais’ Development Company (Codemig) for the commercial exploitation of natural gas in the São Francisco Valley, in the central region of the state.
The fuel used to power the bus during the six-month trial will be supplied by Gasmig for free. “This project aims to promote the use of natural gas in heavy transport and to contribute to air quality improvement around the metropolitan area,” said Gasmig President João Vilhena, who also highlighted the support given by the State Government to take the initiative forward.
It is important to recall that Patrus Transport has recently tested, also in Belo Horizonte, a CNG-fueled Iveco Daily van.
