According to USAirport Parking general manager Russ Lyles his company plans to continue replacing existing diesel buses when their leases expire, while the first buses are part of a testing and evaluation program.
“Many of our customers have asked when we would be moving away from diesel buses and start using clean burning vehicles. Now, we can tell them we are doing it,” Lyles highlighted.
It is worth mentioning that vehicles will use clean-burning Colorado natural gas and will be fed at a refuelling station along the airport’s “rental car row”. However, there are plans to install a CNG facility on the USAirport Parking lot property as a joint-venture between the lot and Clean Energy.
