The Centre of Waste Management – Abu Dhabi stated: “Now is the time for natural gas vehicles. We will continue to support Abu Dhabi’s ambitious lead on fuel efficiency and drastically reduce emissions, aiming to inspire and encourage the ongoing development of such eco-friendly initiatives.”
“We are delighted that EMC has given us the opportunity to try the Mercedes-Benz Econic CNG on our operations in Abu Dhabi. The attributes of the vehicle offer us many advantages as we are heavy users of our fleet,” praised Eng. Alberto Germani, Lavajet Abu Dhabi project manager.
For his part, Mr. Abdullah Al Dhaheri, General Manager ADNOC Distribution, commented, “We are delighted that Emirates Motor Company has taken up this initiative for the first CNG truck in the UAE. This initiative will promote the use of NGV fuel for a cleaner environment in line with Abu Dhabi Vision 2030. ADNOC Distribution plays an important role in marketing and distributing NGV in Abu Dhabi. The company has converted several numbers of taxis and vehicles of different Government entities reaching a total number of 2,675 units at the end of 2012 and also provided them with natural gas from many of ADNOC service stations.”
