In a statement, Barberá stressed the importance of this initiative, which is ahead of the European Union Euro 5 standard that will come into effect in 2012. Moreover, Valencia is the first Spanish city to put into service CNG-powered Iveco Citelis of 12 meters long.
“We are moving forward with environmentally friendly policies, which represents EMT commitment to sustainable mobility, in the way to have a 100% green fleet,” said the mayor.
The most important benefits of using these vehicles are the reduction of CO2 emissions and other pollutants, as well as their lower levels of noise and vibration, explained Barberá to the audience present at the ceremony.
