With the presence of Minister of Petroleum and Natural Gas Murli Deora to flag off the start, the journey is the first of its kind in the Asian country as it will only use CNG. All the cars will be supplied before starting by Mahanagar Gas Limited (MGL), and then fuelled at Gail Gas Limited station in Pavel.
The Eco Drive is sponsored by Gail, MGL, Everest Kanto Cylinder, Mahindra & Mahindra, Tata Motors, Maruti Suzuki India, Indraprastha Gas Limited, Nitin Cylinders, Aavantika Gas Limited, Bhagyanagar Gas Limited, Central Uttar Pradesh Gas Limited and Maharashtra Natural Gas Limited.
