SEUR has expanded its fleet dedicated to super-urgent deliveries, called SEUR Now, in the cities of Madrid, Barcelona and Valencia with the incorporation of 82 Volkswagen Caddy natural gas vans. These NGVs are joining the rest of the eco-friendly fleet that the company operates. In addition, it is a clear example of how the company is committed to sustainability and improving efficiency in smart urban distribution.
The new SEUR Now vehicles allow a 27% reduction in CO2 emissions compared to its diesel counterpart, this means a saving of 373 kg of CO2 per vehicle per month. Moreover, natural gas is one of the fuels that reduces the emission of pollutants that affect health to almost zero: it reduces NOx emissions by 85%, and eliminates 96% of solid particle emissions, in addition to halving noise pollution.
“With the growth of e-commerce, we have not only delivered packages to thousands of homes every day, but we have also managed to anticipate one of the main demands of online shoppers: I buy it and want it now. Therefore, our goal is to meet increasingly shorter deadlines and do so with sustainable resources that comply with urban legislation that safeguards the environment,” said Marc Bayo, Director of SEUR Now.
SEUR, in its commitment to CSR and smart urban distribution, has focused on different projects such as its environmentally-friendly fleet, which already represents 5.5% of the company’s total fleet; and urban hubs, small logistics cores located in the center of cities that allow the company to be closer to customers and minimize emissions using more sustainable means of distribution.
To analyze this extremely positive scenario for natural gas and sustainable urban transport, and evaluate the latest in alternative fuel technologies for clean mobility, AltFuels Iberia 2020 will be held on 5-9 October at IFEMA Trade Fair Center in Madrid.
