The contract includes the delivery of 25 articulated buses that will run on CNG or biomethane. The new vehicles, which were ordered by the city of Bordeaux, will meet Euro 6 emission standards and will join to the 8,000 MAN natural gas-powered units currently in operation, mainly in Europe.
Due to the many technical, economic, and environmental requirements related to the public transportation market, MAN is particularly proud of the confidence showed by the Urban Community of Bordeaux on this occasion.
“The agreement also confirms the interest in our knowledge and expertise in NGV solutions,” said the manufacturer’s press release, and “reinforces MAN Bus & Cars Division’s recent decision –in 2013- to commercialize this technology in France.”
Last month, MAN also received an order from Paris mass transit operator RATP to deliver 200 to 250 hybrid or natural gas-powered buses for the 2014-2018 period.
