All vehicles with internal combustion engines including hybrids have been taken into account to make the list. In view of the results, Prof. Dr. Ferdinand Dudenhöffer, director of the institute which promotes the production of natural gas vehicles, said in order to bring more money-saving NGVs on the roads: “The objective is to get a quota established by law that every automaker sells five percent of alternative fuel vehicles by 2015. Then the natural gas engines would be directly installed on the production line, reducing prices by about 15 to 20 percent.”
This would make possible in the future that more drivers rely on CNG, which protects the environment through low fuel consumption and CO2 emissions reduction.
