Easydis (freight subsidiary of Casino Group) and its historical partner Transports Jacky Perrenot have decided to operate under real conditions the first fleet running on LNG in France. Axègaz Solutions Transport was selected for this project: it will be in charge of the design and management of the gas supply chain and the vehicle fuel tanks, as well as of drivers’ training and LNG refueling system.
Known for their pioneering approaches, Casino Group and Jacky Perrenot share a common logistics culture: innovate to reduce the impact of their activities on the environment. For Casino, it materializes in its “Citygreen” strategy, aimed at improving energy efficiency, competitiveness and carbon footprint of its operations. In turn, Jacky Perrenot has been developing a green policy for decades and owns a fleet whose engines are 80% Euro 5 and Euro 6 and a CNG truck running on biomethane.
In view of this common LNG project, Jacky Perrenot -which also operates the first logistics park in France- will receive between September 2014 and early 2015 ten Iveco Stralis LNG, all Euro 6 compliant, with plans to incorporate additional units in the future.
Through a five-year contract, refueling service for the trucks will be handled by Axègaz, which has delivered a turnkey solution including a mobile storage tank with a capacity of six tons. “Our services include on-site maintenance and supply managed automatically through a telemetry system placed on the gas tank,” said Edward Montmarin, sales manager of Axègaz.
