Hyundai Mexico executive Raúl Hernández Kim said that CNG buses generate savings of 30% compared to diesel transport vehicles. For this reason, the investment of buying such natural gas vehicles is recovered within 2.5 years, according to data published by e-consulta.com.
It is noteworthy that Hyundai has already delivered 30 of the 100 buses purchased by the Mexico City government. The vehicles have been covering Balderas-Santa Fe route since last year.
In late July, the mayor of Mexico City, Marcelo Ebrard Casaubon, announced the Final Project of the toll-free new public transport consisting of 40 natural gas buses that will form the Eco-bus Line 2 and run from San Jerónimo to Santa Fe.
In addition, Hyundai also presented its CNG-fueled HD120 truck, which companies such as Jumex, Bimbo and Sabritas have already introduced into their delivery fleets.
