The government of this Mexican state launched the pilot program for the conversion of public transport vehicles to CNG with the deployment of six clean fuel taxis. Joel González de Anda, Secretary of Communications and Transport, said that the government agency is committed to generate the necessary strategies to offer users the most state-of-the-art and environmentally friendly vehicles.
The official stated that these actions show the State Government’s will and commitment to encourage a sustainable mobility, trying to respect the environment so that future generations have an integrated transport system that allows them to achieve a better development.
Finally, he said it is expected that more operators join this initiative in order to reduce pollutant emissions generated by taxi drivers, which has the benefit of improving the quality of the environment in the region.
It is noteworthy that a Dina Camiones bus powered by CNG had been tested to evaluate its performance in October last year.
