When heading the field test at the Laredo station, located on Lincoln Avenue, the Secretary of Sustainable Development Fernando Gutiérrez Moreno explained that 240 drivers had been preselected, who are being trained by specialists from the Servicio de Transporte Tecno-Ecológico company on how to drive the vehicles and operate the routes.
“I confirm that the Ecovía will be in service beginning the last week of this month. There are 39 intermediate stations and two bus terminals and 80 in total will cover the route. It expected to start operations gradually due to route restructure and,” the official added.
Secretary of Sustainable Development also reported that each bus will have five security cameras, two information screens, wi-fi connection, and special devices to facilitate access for people with disabilities. The service will have a total capacity of 7,500 passengers per hour in both directions.
