The manufacturer said earlier this month in a press conference that it is strongly boosting the development and commercialization of its LNG trucks in France and all Europe. Based on a numerical demonstration, Iveco remarked the “very competitive cost of ownership” of the Euro 6 LNG-powered Stralis, among other benefits.
Besides announcing that there are 205 Stralis trucks running on liquefied natural gas in Europe, Iveco reported that 44 LNG fueling stations are operating on the territory of the European Union and that two additional fueling stations will be commissioned in France before the end of 2014.
Moreover, the press conference addressed some Iveco’s key figures and achievements including 2,052 CNG and LNG vehicles sold in 2013 worldwide or a 43% increase in sales of CNG and LNG vehicles last year. In addition, the company expects registrations to increase 100% this year in France.
Iveco also estimated that series production of LNG Stralis Euro 6 – ECE R110 will start in January 2015 and that next year will be the definitive arrival and consolidation of LNG in France.
