It is worth mentioning that Chilean team AutoGasco is the only one that is running on compressed natural gas and chose a company from Argentina to convert its fleet. These vehicles operating on CNG caught the attention of Chilean president Sebastián Piñera, who drove one of three Toyota pick-up trucks and talked about the particular benefits of this fuel with the members of the greenest team of Dakar Rally.
The vehicles are showing excellent performance in the most difficult terrains. According to recent reports, today (Tuesday 11), competitors were racing around Copiapo, in northern Chile, where they will cross about 235 miles of dunes, sand hills and deep depressions.
