“Companies from Grupo Empresarial del Norte are still assessing the alternatives offered in the market in terms of NGV technology. Tests were conducted with two types of buses, with positive results in the areas of consumption; the implementation of the fleet maintenance facility is also being assessed,” he informed.
The vehicles should be 8.5 meters long, with bodyworks adapted for the subsequent implementation of the electronic payment system and with a 4-cylinder natural gas engine, which meets Euro IV emission standards and with capacity for 30 passengers seated. These are the features established by the MPT for the bus model.
In addition, the MPT and the bus operators should jointly define the regulatory aspects and the necessary requirements regarding issues such as operation, control and service inspection.
