In partnership with Scania Brasil, the company Morada Logística announced the acquisition of the first trucks 100% powered by LNG in Brazil. The first vehicle has already been delivered and its initial route will be on a dedicated route in the interior of São Paulo, starting this month. The model chosen to make up the company’s new fleet of 30 units is the Scania R 410 6×2, with a trailer with three separate axles.
It is the first time that alternative fuel trucks are sold in Brazil. All vehicles will be delivered throughout 2022. In addition to these five units, Morada Logística acquired another 25 Scania trucks that will operate with CNG or bio-CNG.
“We took another historic step, this time with Morada Logística. Scania took on the challenge of leading the transition to a more sustainable transport system with great responsibility. The first sale of LNG trucks shows Morada’s maturity in its concern for sustainability and a vision of the future, based on the feasibility of concrete data, choosing a solution that will bring many benefits to its operation,” said Silvio Munhoz, Commercial Director of Scania Solutions in Brazil.
Morada Logística was the first company to test Scania natural gas trucks in real conditions of use. Since then, more than 400,000 km have been traveled between the interior of São Paulo and Santos, helping to validate the equipment, which today is part of the company’s fleet.
“Congratulations to Morada for its pioneering spirit and more sustainable vision, and for being part of a select group of carriers that etch their name in the history of freight transport with the singular purpose of making the planet less polluted and dependent on diesel,” added Munhoz.
