Empresa Martín S.A., part of Ruiz Group, has introduced 14 Scania Low Entry powered by a natural gas engine and featuring both 10.8 and 12.8-meter Castrosua Magnus E + LE bodywork variants to the Regional Transport Consortium of Madrid (CRTM)
The public transport company already has 143 vehicles serving the CRTM, of which over 50% are CNG fueled. Empresa Martín is once again relying on Scania by acquiring these buses that will cover the Madrid-Leganés route.
At the launch ceremony, which took place on January 16, the Minister of Transport and Infrastructure of the Community of Madrid, Pablo Cavero, said: “These vehicles, which are part of the modernization plan, are best known for their comfort, accessibility and both active and passive safety, particularly its braking system. Thanks to efficient Euro 6 engines, these buses help improve air quality and protect the environment “.
The Community has increased the number of buses that use natural gas as fuel for intercity services during the current administration by 85%. With the new 14 CNG vehicles incorporated, there are 60 units of these characteristics currently operating in the region.
