Built of standard components, low-entry gas truck’s chassis highlights the possibilities to combine a vehicle with limited height and a cab that’s easy to walk in and out of all day long and with space for a crew of four. Scania’s low-entry vehicles are available in multiple variations, with three heights for the cab roof and two, three or four axles featuring twin-steer or rear-steer tag axles or tandem drive. Like the bus, the engine runs on biogas or natural gas stored in eight chassis-mounted composite tanks.
In addition, the 4×2 tractor for regional shunting operations has a gas engine that has been adapted in The Netherlands to carry both compressed gas tanks and tanks for liquefied gas. In both cases the fuel can be based on natural gas or biogas.
