This vehicle features a newly developed 1.4-liter direct injection, turbocharged engine that can run on either petrol or CNG. The engine delivers 81 kW / 110 PS, with the maximum torque of 200 Nm available from as low down as 1,500 rpm. In spite of its fuel efficiency, this bestows the Leon TGI with outstanding performance – 0 to 100 km/h in 10.9 seconds and a top speed of 194 km/h.
The bivalent – engineered for natural gas and petrol – 1.4 TSI offers exceptional range. In purely CNG mode, it is around 400 kilometers. The average fuel consumption is 3.5 kg of CNG per 100 kilometers. In petrol mode, it provides an additional range of more than 900 kilometers. If the two CNG tanks with a combined capacity of 15 kg located beneath the luggage compartment and the 50-litre petrol tank are completely full, it achieves a theoretical range of 1,300 kilometers.
The Leon TGI is offered in the five-door and in the estate version ST, each one with the Reference or Style equipment lines.
