Scania Argentina has delivered a natural gas truck from its Green Efficiency Line to Aesa Buenos Aires, a company that carries out the work of waste collection, sweeping and cleaning in Comuna 1 (Retiro, San Nicolás, Monserrat, San Telmo, San Cristóbal, Constitución and Puerto Madero) of the City of Buenos Aires, to perform a one-year trial in real operating conditions. Recently, Scania also announced that the operator Cliba will test its first CNG truck for garbage collection in the Argentine capital.
Belonging to the French multinational group Veolia, Aesa covers these operations in Commune 1 since 2014 and has more than 23 years of experience in the country. Within the framework of various initiatives of commitment to the environment, the company entered into a strategic alliance with Scania, to carry out the 12-month test with a vehicle powered by CNG, of its DemoTrucks fleet.
“It is already proven that Scania trucks that run on CNG as fuel emit less polluting gases, up to 90% less particulate matter and emit less noise. The best way for customers to corroborate this is with the test in real conditions of the service they need to perform,” explained Fernando Ríos, Sales Director of Scania Argentina.
“The addition of this Scania CNG unit to our fleet is another step in our comprehensive innovation process. The use of clean energy for transportation and waste collection is a strategy that is compatible with Veolia’s purpose: to be a world leader in Ecological Transformation,” said Julio Abel Romero, General Manager of Aesa Buenos Aires.
