Albacete-based Transportes Caudete, which offers refrigeration and general cargo transport services, recently added 30 IVECO Stralis NP 460 trucks powered by natural gas, allowing its fleet to become a sustainable example for national and international logistics. With this operation, Transportes Caudete and IVECO reaffirm their commitment to the constant search for greater quality in their services and corporate social responsibility, actively contributing to the sustainable reduction of pollutants present in transport, as well as to drive in a safer and more efficient way.
“IVECO and we share the interest in sustainable road transport, with the objective of reducing the carbon footprint with trucks that respect the environment. Our decision to bet on the Stralis NP 460 has been because we already know the brand, we have a large number of IVECO vehicles among our fleet and we trust in their reliability and quality, but also because they are a true benchmark in heavy vehicles. With this model, the control on the total cost of ownership has been considerably improved, and there is more competitiveness and a significant technological evolution,” said Rubén Pagán, Director of Transportes Caudete.
IVECO natural gas range allows, for the first time, to improve both sustainability and return on investment. With the Stralis NP 460, the environmental impact of its road transport activities is reduced, as well as the consumption of fossil fuels and the costs associated with these energy expenses. This model, powered by natural gas, emits up to 70% less NOx, 99% less suspended particles and 90% less NMHC (compared to the limits of the Euro 6 standard). In addition, it mitigates global warming by significantly reducing CO2 emissions (about 15% less compared to a diesel equivalent and up to 95% less with biomethane).
The IVECO Stralis NP 460 has a Euro VI Cursor 13 natural gas engine with 12.9-liters that develops a power of 460 HP and a maximum torque of 1,900 Nm. This model offers the best weight-to-power ratio in its class, the highest fuel efficiency in long-distance missions and the lowest operating costs, with oil change intervals of 90,000 km. It is also the first natural gas truck with a 12-speed automated transmission, which guarantees lower fuel consumption and greater driving comfort.
To analyze this extremely positive scenario for natural gas and sustainable road transport, and evaluate the latest in alternative fuel technologies for clean mobility, AltFuels Iberia 2020 will be held on 5-9 October at IFEMA Trade Fair Center in Madrid.
