The Mislata City Council, through the public company Nemasa, added to its municipal fleet two trucks for the collection of waste that run on natural gas as fuel, technology that allows the new vehicles to be more efficient and sustainable.
The city opted for CNG trucks as they are safer, quieter and less polluting than conventional diesel vehicles by reducing harmful gas emissions. In addition, they are smaller than the current ones, so they will have greater accessibility and maneuverability, thus speeding up collection times.
“This City Council has decided to bet firmly on environmental care and sustainability, and for this reason we have decided to renew our fleet of vehicles. We already incorporated electric cars and motorcycles. With these two natural gas-powered trucks we are taking another step towards sustainable development and a circular economy,” said the Mayor of Mislata Carlos Fernández Bielsa.
The acquisition of these two vehicles, which will replace older ones that will be withdrawn from the collection service, represents a notable environmental improvement in the municipality. “Mislata continues with its firm commitment to sustainable mobility that reduces polluting emissions and to promotion of new technologies aimed at improving public services,” added Bielsa.
