The Local Government Board of the City Council of Ciudad Real recently approved the acquisition of three new Scania CNG urban buses, co-financed by the European Regional Development Fund.
The spokesperson for the Government Team and head of EDUSI (Sustainable Urban Development Strategy) Sara Martínez said about the new vehicles: “They will join the fleet that is already on our lines, which is environmentally sustainable and accessible. And it is an important advance for the city’s green strategy.”
These vehicles will join other three natural gas buses, manufactured by MAN with Castrosúa bodywork, which were acquired last year by EDUSI under the “Ciudad Real Sustainable Urban Mobility and Accessibility Plan.” This scheme seeks to adapt current vehicles to the Euro 6 standard in order to reduce emissions, especially those of greenhouse effect.
The Government Board has also approved the start of the file for contracting the management of the “Smart CR LAB 2022” accelerator, within the EDUSI Ciudad Real 2022 Eco-Integrador. This accelerator of business ideas will allow to carry out actions to strengthen the business fabric in the city, supporting new entrepreneurs and helping to create a favorable climate to transform Ciudad Real into a city that is favorable to the Smart Economy as a key axis in the ecosystem local innovation.
